Everyone Deserves Therapy
For the month of April, we’ll be opening our first ever application cycle! This means that Chicago folks can apply to receive free or low-cost therapy for up to two years if they meet our eligibility criteria:
Income: less than 80% AMI (Area Median Income)
Age: 17+ years old
Residency: Chicago / Illinois
Need: Ongoing or situational stress appropriate for once weekly therapy (eg. caregiving, housing instability, legal stress, health, life transitions)
Barriers to Access: Uninsured or underinsured (including high deductible plans, Medicaid, etc.)
This application link will be open April 1st – 30th.
Though spots will be limited, we encourage anyone who identifies with our mission to apply! This does not guarantee enrollment in our program – spots will be offered based on a lottery system. Eligible applicants who are not enrolled in this round are welcome to reapply in the future; the next application cycle will be October 2026. Moving forward, we will have bi-annual application cycles based on program capacity.
We believe mental health care should be accessible to all. That’s why our counseling centers authentic connection, individualized treatment, and the removal of systemic barriers that limit access to care.
At Infinite Possibilities we provide inclusive, high quality mental health services to adolescents and emerging adults from Black and Brown communities in the Chicago-land area. These services are offered at an affordable rate and/or at no cost to our participants.
As a result, we offer the gold standard in therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Liberation Therapy, and more.
If you know anyone who could help increase or contribute to our offerings please reach out to Abbie Kelley at
Potential participants apply to the IPP program based on their financial need. We offer 1:1 counseling services, mental health workshops, psycho education groups, support groups, skill-based groups, and trainings to other mental health professionals.
We also partner with other nonprofits, community organizations and community members who are aligned with our vision.
Once accepted, participants are guaranteed up to two years of free or low-cost individual therapy and engage in 6-month increment reviews to follow progress toward their treatment goals. Therapists also participate in surveys to review clinical recommendations and advocate for auxiliary support services (i.e. housing, resume coaching, etc). This process helps to ensure that participants are able to make the most use of their dedicated time in therapy.
Throughout much of American history, Black and Brown communities have endured harm that has led to generational trauma, challenges in managing mental health, and a deep-seated distrust of various systems. We acknowledge that there are systems in place that have contributed to the harm against these intentionally marginalized populations. We are committed to working towards positive change and improvement.
IPP works with trusted Chicago organizations to expand access to mental health care. Our clinical partner is AMK Counseling, alongside community partners including Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, Girl Forward, Educate & Create, 100 Black Men, and Humboldt Park Health– together supporting youth development, education, and empowerment.
By partnering with other community organizations, we elevate the offerings participants have access to and increase the impact! We know we are all better together. When we work together we can make sustainable changes.
