In the therapist words

Because of the IPP program, one participant was able to remain in therapy for five years- the consistent, long-term support she had never had access to before. She entered care using unhelpful coping strategies, struggling with addiction and unstable housing. Through ongoing therapy, she was able to process childhood trauma and understand how it shaped her relationships and sense of safety.

Today, she is celebrating more than 2 years of sobriety and the longest period of job and housing stability in her life. She credits IPP with giving her the time, trust, and support needed to work through grief, loss, abandonment, trauma, and addiction- creating space for lasting healing and growth.

This is the impact of donor-supported care: when barriers are removed, transformation becomes possible.

In the words of IPP participants

IPP has been truly life-changing. Without this program, I wouldn’t have had an emotional outlet at all- because when you’re focused on survival, mental health often comes last. IPP made it possible for me to prioritize my well-being.

I’ve been part of IPP for four years, and I can honestly say I’ve never been happier. With the support of my therapist, I’ve overcome countless obstacles and built a healthier, more stable life. I am deeply grateful for the care IPP provides and for the opportunity to heal.

I was born and raised in a refugee camp and carried years of unaddressed trauma. Through IPP, I was finally able to talk about my childhood, my transition to the U.S., and the challenges of being a college student. This support helped me express my feelings, set boundaries, and begin healing. It has also helped me be successful in college. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity.
